The other boys

descended on the store.

Old

Yemenite

man

behind the till

Contending

with sales of sweet bread

and choko-milk.

 

Some were stolen,

forty agurot

Pilfer.

 

I wasn’t involved.

 

Too scared,

not

Too moral.
