It was a stunning moment
when
my
colleague
jokingly,
disparagingly,
counter-culturally
called the man across
‘Hey sticks, how are you today?’
He had cerebral palsy
his gait
awkward.
He seemed to appreciate the acknowledgment
better
than
being
invisible.
