Goya, lost dog

Head of the dog

Lost in his

Black period.

We all

Loved

And somehow

Understood the symbolism;

We got

The drowning,

The overwhelming

beauty

the majesty,

Of being very, very small

On a canvas designed for ever.

  1. We don’t think of Goya as painting lost dog – not cute, not a lapdog , but loyal, pleading , pining for its human to come back. You could just bring it home.
    A frail life, immortalised.

  2. Wow, what a greAt historian/biographer and a really good natural communicator! Really enjoyed the narrative and explanations. Those presidents were human beings after all! When will
DKG bring out a book on NIxon, Clinton, Trump………..
Think I will put my toe in the water and join Audible for one of her books.
    Thank You very much!
