In the moment, walk into town.

The streets

Are scattered

With

Lost

And forgotten

Bits and bobs.

Here

An old woman’s

Winter hat,

There, a bone china jug.

It is early in the year

And the

Trees

Are still bare.

The dead

Squirrel

Has been removed

And the cars

glide

Unerringly towards

Town.

Cigarette packets,

Old milk carton.

Waste,

Rubbish

Left-over.

The white sky

Forms

A protective

Curtain.

I wait.

  1. Mmmm, the detritus and dearth of the post festivities season?
An alternative to wait and maybe succumb to the siren song of spirits of January past, try the theatre , the Art Gallery { above the library with pleasant cafe}, the John Ruskin { old building preferred by me tho}?
Plant a rowan or acquire pots of bulbs to flower soon? Snowdrops at Hodsock due out very shortly?
Book a course at High Peak Arts?
    Only 11 weeks to Spring!!

Piece de Resistance …………. book halfterm in Tel Aviv – warm and welcoming and by the sea?
