At Newgrange

At Newgrange I felt

drawn

back to the scene

at the end of Stig of the Dump.

The one

on mid-summers’ eve

with the

ancients dancing.

It was hypnotic

to gaze

at the zig-zags

and spirals

in the stone.

Etched

some

five-thousand years ago

by an early

Irish

artist.

Potentially

off their head on mushrooms.

The further we are

from our past;

to who we were

the more disconnected we are

from who we are.

Trying to understand the world, one emotion at a time.

  1. Think I must seè that scene, of ancients dancing.
Did they have to be on mushrooms to carve those patterns – seem very symmetrical for someone under the influence?
    Profoundly true philosophical conclusion.
Strangely feel place less than impressive to you?
