It has only been
Since our recent
House-guest, a dogs-dog, you might call him –
A man’s dog
Came to visit
That I understood a little more the ins and outs of my Maisie’s mind.
I think she has some cat in her.
Offered food, she eats delicately, nibbles,
Upon seeing another dog, hackles appear;
In the morning,
After walk
She curls-up on my pillow and goes to sleep.
Drake,
Our visiting dog, dog,
Scoffs/inhales food with aplomb,
Follows me round the house
And meanders on the lead
Content in himself;
I am not really a cat person,
Perhaps a cat-dog guy.
Drake does have a look of unconditional devotion for his new pack leader, and so does Maisie!

No idea. Floppy ears?

Cockers have long flat floppy ears, springers are smaller.

My mum had a cocker spaniel when I was a small child – it was a sweet natured thing. 🙂

He’s pretty chilled unless you interfere with his dinner.
